Most of them stand about 6' to 6' 6", so hitting your head is explainable.

Well if you were wearing that armor you'd hit your head on a few more things. I am 6'5" and i still occasionally hit my head on doorways.

Katana you have to understand that there is a fine distinction between a movie and real life. Do you know David katurn? He was in ww2. He was an infantryman who was awarded the Medal of honor and the Gold star twice in one day. Next day an elite german SS infantry men killed him with a knife. In real life I think that the rebellion would have been crushed. It's just the way it works.

The reason for the rebelions success was because they avoided open confrontation until the end. Even at Hoth, the battle was just to give the thousands of people there a chance to escape. And in the Return of the Jedi, they thought they were ambushing an unfinished and naked death star.

Yes, but the stormtroopers would have killed them in A new Hope. Remember when the door was opening really slowly? They would have simply thrown a grenade under it and WHAMBO!! Leia and luke die. You have to think that these are elite troops, trained to improvise and be ingenuitive.

Actually, it there was basicly no space there, so it would have taken a really good throw. Even if you did make it, it would be really simple to kick it off.

Also, they weren't on any operation where they would be heavily armed. They were simply patrolling a base that couldn't possibly be invaded.

No, they would slide it under the door. And they would probably cook the grenade off (hold in their hand and count) And even if that didn't work you could just stick a couple of blasters under there and slice 'em at the ankles.

............ Also, contrary to the movies, a grenade set off in a ship will NOT destroy it. And if you read it again I said they could have simply slid their blasters under it and sliced em at the ankles.
